Director Darol Carr, the 1978 Harry S. Truman
Scholar from Florida, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree,
with honors, from the University of South Florida and his
Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. Since joining the
firm in 1983, he has focused his practice primarily on personal
injury and wrongful death actions, probate litigation, and
commercial litigation including foreclosures, contract, leases,
and construction matters. Mr. Carr's practice includes significant
involvement in state and federal lawsuits.
First appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to serve on the Edison
College Board of Trustees, he now serves as the chairman.
Mr. Carr’s other experience includes service in the
United States Air Force, a staff position with American Criminal
Law Review, and instructing legal writing and research at
Georgetown Law Center.
He is a member and past president of the Charlotte County Bar Association,
a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Florida Trial
Lawyers Association. In addition to Florida state courts, Mr. Carr is admitted
to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the
Eleventh Circuit; U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, and U.S.
Tax Court.
