Guy Emerich, former president and managing director of the firm, is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Wills, Trusts and Estates Law, and also practices in real property law. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the University of Florida, he holds a Master of Laws degree in estate planning from the University of Miami.

Before joining the firm in 1971, Mr. Emerich served as an editor of the University of Florida Law Review and as an assistant professor of law. He is a member of the American Bar Association and The Charlotte County Bar Association, for which he has served as president.  Mr. Emerich is former Chairman of the Estate and Trust Tax Planning Committee of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section of the Florida Bar as well as the Co-vice Chairman of the Mentoring Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. For the past three years, Mr. Emerich was named one of Florida's Legal Elite -- a distinguished group selected by one's peers, honoring only two percent of the state's lawyers.  He has also been selected to "Super Lawyers" and for selection in Best Lawyers in America for 2008.  He is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).

In addition to Florida state courts, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida; the U.S. Court of Claims, and the U.S. Tax Court. Mr. Emerich is active in the Charlotte County Estate Planning Council and frequently conducts lectures and seminars on estate planning. He is past president of Charlotte County Mental Health Services and currently serves as a Director of Endowment Trust for the Charlotte County Art Guild. In addition, Mr. Emerich is Director of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.
